Motorhome Hire (terms and conditions)

Eligibility
No one other than the drivers in the proposal forms may drive the hired vehicle.

All named driver must be over 25 and under 70 years of age, of good health and have held a full/valid driving licence for at least 2 years. 
The licence must be clean with no endorsements, there is a small loading on the insurance premium for speeding convictions ect, contact us for a quote.

All licences required must be produced at vehicle collection , if this is a photo-card license you must produce both the card and the counterpart license, we also require the drivers passport and 2 utility bills from there home address.

Persons with serious convictions within the last eleven years will not be permitted to drive the hired vehicles (including drink driving offences)

Bookings
Telephone  bookings can be made on 01349 854620, but can only be held up to 5 days until a booking deposit of Ł200 per week of hire is received.

He booking deposit is not refundable and shall be deducted from all hire charges.

Confirmation of the booking will be posted together with the invoice in respect of the tariff and damage deposit.
Cancellation of bookings

Cancellations must be in writing, and are charged as follow

Should you cancel your confirmed booking, you will forfeit the booking deposit.

Should you cancel your confirmed booking up to 4 weeks prior to, or fail to turn up for commencement of hire, you will forfeit the booking deposit and hire change already paid.

This will also apply if, upon inspection of name drivers’ licence’s, they are found to be invalid or do not comply with the information stated on the booking form.

Highland leisure sport recommend that the hirer takes out their own cancellation insurance.

Payment

Full payment is due by cheque, bank draft, building society cheque or cash, 1 calendar month prior to hire commencing.

The damage excess of Ł500 is payable 7 days prior to the hire commencing or by cash on day of hire and is fully refundable 5 working days after return of the vehicle of the agreed date and time.

Late returns will be charged at the rate of Ł30 per hour.

Availability 

Whilst we will make every effort to ensure that the reserved motor home is available,if due to circumstances beyond our control it is not possible to supply that motor home we will refund the full cost including booking to the hirer.

Insurance
 All motor homes are comprehensively insured for the named drivers during the hire period only as detailed on the booking form.
Up to two additional drivers can be added at an additional charge;
Please contact us for prices, under no circumstances has anyone
other than the person(s) named on the hire agreement to drive the 
Vehicle 

A refundable deposit of Ł500 is payable upon vehicle pick-up.
In the event of an insurance claim, further Ł250 will be payable to
cover the full insurance excess of Ł750; this will be payable two
weeks after the date of invoice . Any damage to the vehicle during the hire period that is not covered by an insurance claim will be deducted
from the refundable deposit, this will include any loss of equipment.

Every accident or any damage must be reported to 
Highlandleisuresport.co.uk immediately by telephone and an accident
form will have to be completed at the end of the hire period.

Any damages to tyres, windscreen and any theft of personal property is not covered by our insurance, and any such damage shall be at your expense.
Highlandleisuresport.co.uk recommend that the hirer takes out their own personal belongings insurance






LIMITATIONS & LIABILITIES

Highlandleisuresport.co.uk accepts no responsibility for replacement
vehicle costs, travel or accommodation costs or any other loss claims
arising from a motor home breakdown or accident.

The Hirer:

Is liable for any cost incurred for speeding or parking fines, 
             congestion charges or any other offences committed against
             the road traffic act regulations.

Must remember that although these  are leisure vehicles, it         
              is an offence to DRINK AND DRIVE.

Undertakes responsibility for the control of the vehicle on         
                Hire to you.           

Is liable for all overhead damage to the vehicle resulting                    	    from any accident.  The maximum height of the vehicle  is 	          	    clearly stated.       

Shall not tow any trailer or vehicle behind the hired vehicle.

Shall not carry more passengers than the seated capacity of      the vehicle, as defined in the vehicle specification or allow the vehicle to be overloaded.

Shall ensure the driver and all passengers require by law to do 	so shall, at all times when the vehicle is being driven wear 	seat belts provided.

Shall not use the vehicle to carry passengers or goods for

Hire or reward	
		
Shall not, without written consent from 
                 Highlandleisuresport.co.uk, remove the vehicle from the
                 UK mainland.


BREAKDOWN & ACCIDENTS

In the event of a breakdown or accident a recovery and repair service is provided for all our motor homes (details inside vehicles).

You are authorised to spend Ł100 on any necessary repairs and /or replacement parts, and we will reimburse you against a valid VAT receipt.

Any repair above Ł100 will have to be authorised by Highland Leisure Sport.

Any breakdown, malfunction or damage caused by your negligence must be repaired at your own expense.

GENERAL

The motor home and it’s contents remain the property of Highland
Leisure Sport at all times.

The hirer is required, to keep the vehicle securely locked at all times when it is left unattended, and to refrain from any action or omission which may prejudice HIGHLAND LEISURE SPORT rights to the vehicle.


GENERAL cont.
The following are strictly prohibited in our motor homes and
HIGHLAND LEISURE SPORT reserves the right to retain in part or whole the refundable deposit if additional deep cleaning or repair is required upon return of the vehicle due to:
- SMOKING -Ł100 penalty deducted from deposit
- PETS - Ł100 penalty deducted from deposit
- ANY OTHER ANIMALS - Ł100 penalty deducted from deposit
ADDITIONAL cleaning is charged top of the Ł100 penalty

HIGHLAND LEISURE SPORT reserves the right to vary rates and conditions at any time.

Highland Leisure Sport offer free car parking for your car whilst you are away, however,vehicles are left entirely at the OWNERS RISK. Only one allocated parking space is provided per motorhome hire, with additional vehicle parking available there is a charge for this please ask for secure parking price.

VEHICLE CONDITIONS

The hirer acknowledges delivery of the vehicle and it’s contents, free from defects or damage, other than as specified by Highland Leisure Sport.

Before the commencement of hire the hirer is advised to check the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the premises of Highland Leisure Sport.

The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as when hired, with the interior and appliances clean, any additional cleaning charges will be deducted from your deposit, under no circumstances have any plastic surfaces in the motor home to be cleaned using any scourers or abrasive cleaners.

Highland Leisure Sport will make a charge of Ł30 for the cleaning of un-emptied chemical toilets, Ł10 for dirty waste water and for the cleaning of dirty or stained carpets or upholstery will be charged as deemed necessary.


FUEL  &  OIL

A full tank of fuel is supplied with the vehicle at the start of hire and the hirer is expected to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel.
There is a fuel station 2 miles from our premises.

THERE WILL BE A SURCHARGE OF Ł20 PLUS THE COST OF FUEL FOR ANY FUEL SHORTAGE.

All of our motor homes are DIESEL the hirer is liable for any costs incurred should they use the incorrect fuel.

The hirer will be responsible for the regular checking of oil and water levels, and the use of the correct type of fluids.

GAS;

Two 6kg gas bottles are provided with the vehicle at the time of hire, at least one of these will be full, should one bottle run out while on hire the hirer has to replace it, the motor home has to be returned with at least one full bottle of gas, any shortages there is a Ł20 surcharge plus the price of the gas refill, the same applies if the motor home is returned with 2 bottles which have both had gas used.
